What about a locked box at the office window?
 
Or the other thing you could do is to let parents know that they are to hand=
 the money directly to the appropriate persons (teacher or office), so if th=
ey do leave it on a desk it goes missing then you are not held responsible a=
s they have not followed the correct process.

Good afternoon everyone,
Has anybody got any brilliant ideas for a one person office with regard to r=
eceiving cash from families. Although we use cash bags from the classrooms t=
hat have marked cash sheets, we have had a few incidents lately of parents s=
aying "I left the money on your desk you were busy". We also accept money di=
rectly through the general office and have had the same comment. 
'Strangely our books balance at the end of each day' 
Short of writing out cash receipts then and there which is entirely unpracti=
cal or re-iterating to parents not to leave money on desks we are between a=
 rock and a hard place. Our word against a parent's. 
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
