[Busmanagers] Finance Reports

We have never presented cash receipts reports (even old CASES) to school
council because of the privacy issue.  It was presented to finance
committee only.  I don't present the cash payments reports either
because it doesn't always reconcile to other reports, and the detailed
bank account movement reports show all the individual payments anyway.
 
I present a summary page which goes to each school councillor and one
complete set of reports are in the middle of the table for anyone who
wants to look which contain Operating Statement,  Detailed bank account
movements (all accounts), Annual Subprogram Budget Report,  Cash Flow
Statement, Balance Sheet and Outstanding purchase orders (our choice).

Hi Lisa,

My understanding is that now only the Balance Sheet and the Operating
Statement (both to be signed by School Council President) are now
required to be presented to school council.  All other reports we
present at our Finance sub-committee meetings and cheque payments are
approved there.  I have frequently had arguments with auditors over the
cash receipts report because my argument is that privacy constraints
would dictate that details of individual family payments to the school
are private and should not be made available to school councillors, only
aggregated receipts figures are appropriate - and on each occasion
they've agreed and it hasn't been recorded on the audit report.
