Answers to your questions are:
1. Yes, but schools should only use teachers on family leave as a
last resort i.e. only if there is nobody else available.
2. This refers to situations where the teacher has had previous
family leave absence(s) of less than 7 years. As the total amount of
family leave is 7 years, a temporary resumption may extend the
previously established end date.
3. Yes, but only in accordance with the policy set out on the
family leave page on HRWeb -

Subject: [Busmanagers] Att Chris Towers - Family Leave advice please
Dear Chris,
I have a teacher commencing Family Leave next year. She has asked me to
clarify a couple of points:
1. Can she work as a CRT while on Family Leave - as
far as I know yes, but I can't find anything in writing
2. Temporary resumption at another school (with the
base school Principal's approval) - HR Employment Conditions state "a
temporary resumption may extend the period of family leave provided that
the period of family leave does not go beyond the seventh birthday of
the child for whom family leave was taken or exceed a total of seven
years" - does this mean that her family leave resumes with the same end
date as before (i.e. 7 years from commencement) - I don't see how it can
extend the period if it can't go beyond the seventh birthday of the
child
3. Is a temporary resumption allowed at the base
school
Thanks
