After logging in and reading your emails about ato certificates, I
thought I should down load my certificate.

I received the same message as some other Business Managers, but I knew
I had renewed our school certificate late last year. There was a
bulletin reference, when I read the bulletin on the ato home page.......
This is that it said.....

>From 20 April 2006 when you attempt to retrieve or send files like
activity statements using the electronic commerce interface (ECI), you
will receive a message advising you that the Tax Office's certificate
details are "out of date or incorrect".

This is the result of a security upgrade by the Tax Office and requires
no action on your part, other than selecting 'OK'..

In the past we have asked that you check the details at the bottom of
the warning message with details that we provide to you. This is no
longer necessary.

The explanation for this upgrade is that the Tax Office also uses a
digital certificate when it verifies its identity to your ECI
application when you use it to connect to the Tax Office. The Tax Office
renews its digital certificate every two years as a security precaution.
This is what you are acknowledging when you click OK on the warning
message.

Please press the 'OK' button and continue as normal.

For technical assistance:

*	phone 1300 139 373, Monday to Friday, 7.00am to midnight, or
*	send an email to technical.help at ato.gov.au
<http://eci.ato.gov.au/bulletins/technical.help@ato.gov.au>

Date posted 20 April 2006

I hope this helps as all you have to do is say ok...... you can then get
your certificate, you have to update your certificate every 2 years I
think, so if you are unsure a phone call to the number here might help.

Regards,
