[Busmanagers] balances

Can someone please help, having recently gone over to CASES21 Finance, how do I incorporate my old system figures (what was sitting in each code) to the new system so I can see what people have left to spend?  Eg.  fundraising and PD money that was rolled over from last year and usually spent this year.  I realise I will have to get the reports from cases but do I have to do journal entries or something to have them show up on CASES21.   Hopefully this all makes sense as I feel like a dummy right now!!!!
