Hi Terry,

I am also going on in the January holidays and I had an email from Alan
Mackenzie to say that the 3 days hands-on system training would be in
the week 16 - 20 January.

Hi Terry

We went over in January 2005 and found it to be good and that was in the
days of minimal training etc. It went well given how busy first term can
be. I spent some time in the holidays setting up fee codes and three of
us worked on putting all charges on students in the first week of term.
It all depends on how funds from families hit the school. You can also
concentrate on receipting money in to get it to the bank and it can be
allocated later when the charges are all completed. It saved having to
reload budgets etc for KLA areas and we just held aside any invoices etc
that we did not need to pay until following year. It worked well for us
with student numbers of 660. I have contact with two large secondary
schools, one went on in January and one in the previous November and
both had some difficulties and stressful times.

Hi all

Have just read VPA minutes and it is recommended to avoid migrating to
CASES21F at the beginning of a new school year. Why is this? 

We are due to go over in 2006 and I was thinking it would be great to do
in January - I would then only have 6 weeks to stuff things up & 2 weeks
break to try to repair! 

What are your suggestions.
