[Busmanagers] Foster child

Hi Jane,

 

We have quite a few foster children at our school.  The foster families
are all eligible for EMA  but unfortunately you've missed the deadline
for that.  However we bill all our foster families for materials,
excursions etc as we would anyone else, and many of them get fees or
excursion costs paid for by local agencies, eg, Care Connect, Yooralla
etc. but that is for them to chase up not you.  They do not have a
blanket exemption from fees.

We have just enrolled a family with a foster child and I have sent them
an account for the proportioned amount of the Materials and Services
charge.  They have just called to say that they don't pay anything for a
foster child, is this correct.  

I thought that foster families were subsidised for the child's
education.  Any information would be appreciated.
