I am running an after-school APP club. I use Corona SDK, a programming
framework that uses the Lua scripting language. The code can then be built
for Android and iOS. You can also scale APPs in such a way as to support
tablets, including the Kindle Fire and Nook Color. Soon, they promise to
allow releases for Mac OS.
Corona SDK is not a household name but many high profile APPs, especially
games, have been written in it. As an example, the APP released to promote
the Lorax movie.
Stencyl seems to be a worthwhile drag and drop tool to look at, as it looks
a lot like Scratch and you can release the APP for multiple platforms.
Sincerely,
Ziad Baoudi,
