Hi all,
The following news item asserts that Adobe Flash and Acrobat(pdf) reader
software now presents the main computer security threat, because both of
these add-ons are installed on up to 95% of computers worldwide and they
are easier to target by evil-doers than Windows is these days.
"The Biggest Security Hole on the Web?" Security Company Points to Flash
& Acrobat Vulnerabilities" http://archive.webpronews.com/2009a/0816.html
Common sense says they are probably right. For example when was the last
time you updated your Adobe Acrobat (pdf) reader, let alone your version
of Flash currently installed on your computer? Microsoft actively update
Windows automatically, but we all need to seek and install Adobe updates
ourselves to secure our computers.
Anyway, visiting here: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ will
tell you, after a few seconds, which version of Adobe you have installed
on your machine.
If you do not have Version 10,0,32,18 installed one would suggest you do
click on that Adobe webpage fairly soonish. Downloading & installing the
latest version will protect your computer (and us) from those infections
which will certainly ruin your day and your computer, not to mention our
computers from your infected machine, and updating is just good practice.
Go on guys .. check your machine now .. you know you want to .. so do we
Apologies if you already know about this, and, congratulations if you do.
Cheers people
