[Yr7-10it] Rubrics for VELS thread.

Hi Peter, I am looking at developing/implementing rubrics at my school too. We are having a curriculum day on Monday and I will be bouncing some ideas off the staff who have the 7's in IT then. I've got the 8-12's.

As an intro, I will be creating/developing tables of activities to match up with the different progression points and building a list of tasks to suit the different levels of the 3 dimensions Visual Thinking, Creating, Communication.
 
I am interested to see or hear from others who are developing curriculum along the same lines.
 
Topics for rubrics could include:
Microsoft products,
Non Microsoft products
Visual software tools(eg inspiration, MX Freehand, etc.)
Design based software tools (eg autocad)
Programming and implementing its links to VELS based topics
The Internet
Virtual communications and VELS links
Email and other packages and its VELS links.

Hi all,

 

Has anyone developed a rubric for each of the VELS IT activities? I am teaching year 7 IT and I haven't noticed anyone discussing this.

The rubric has been readily used in other subject areas. I haven't found many examples of its use in IT. Is there anyone who has created some that we can use as a template?
