If you turn the plastic ones upside down, they make quite good pogo
sticks.....

Subject: [Yr7-10it] Chairs in a Computer Centre
Dear all,
Here's a simple question that I'd be grateful for a response on:
We are currently redesigning one of our rooms in the Computer Centre.
We are changing from an island rectangular bench to two octagonal tables
with desktops still on the perimeter as well.
We are looking at replacement chairs. Currently we have the reliable
but uncomfortable plastic chairs with one size fits all.
We are looking at your more ergonomic swivel chair on castor wheels that
is height adjustable - no arm rests with fabric cushion.
Two quotes - one for an Australian made chair from a preferred supplier
- $123 per unit - ouch - but 5 year warranty
The other is from a chain furniture store for a Chinese made $59 chair -
we assemble - one year warranty.
Has anyone had experience with this situation? My idea is go for the
$59 and buy 3-4 extra chairs. Then again, do we support the local
producer and break our budget or just don't buy them.
I've bought a number of chairs from the second supplier and not had an
issue. Which one - or should we keep the horrible plastic ones we
currently have?
What do ye wise ones think?
With thanks
Phil Callil
