Thanks Tony, I recall seeing this at an ICTEV conference many moons ago but
the software name had escaped me. The other was Cakewalk but I think it was
a bit hard to use or too expensive. Hmm, Cubasis AV is only Windows 98/Me
compatible. Heard also of something called Fruity Loops but there must be
easier to use stuff out there for middle school students :-(

There was a cool one handed out with my kids breakfast cerial but it didn't
have a save option for music files generated. Just looking over these ones

We are using Cubasis AV which can export midi files (*.mid) which are
compatible with Gamemaker. Cubasis came as free software with our music
keyboards though you can compose from a computer keyboard with it too.
