My thanks to Keith for allowing me to modify his ICT course outline.
The attached uses the motivating power of computer games to provide a set of
tasks which are authentic and relevant for kids. It spans a wide range of
disciplines. It can be adapted for a wide range of year levels. It well
aligned with the VELS.
It adds the domains of drama and music and further emphasises art. It is
intended to provide a deep and rich learning experience which reinforces
generalised learning skills preparing students for a future where knowledge
has a rapidly decreasing half life.
As Keith has noted, you may have to be opportunistic in introducing such a
course and "keep things between compatible teachers who WANT to work
together." De-emphasise aspects for which there is not much support and
further develop aspects for which you can get support.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, particularly if you can use part
or all of this material.
