That is fantastic Claire and Andrew.
What software do you use for the DVD authoring (creating animation for
DVD)?

Hi Sylvia,
I have a yr 10 mm class - 4 periods a week for 1 semester. I do some
graphics manipulation and vector drawing using Macromedia Fireworks. 2D
animation using Flash. Some audio and music with Sound Forge and Acid
and
some digital video with Vegas. Also web creation in Dreamweaver.
It's fairly prac based, we don't have much time for theory. I show them
examples of different types of animation, and use the "making of"
sections
of various DVDs.Tend to do small exercises to train in software and
then a
major project to tie it all together. This year, they made an
interactive CV
showcasing their skills in multimedia. Most of the students have used
Stop
Motion animation in yr 9, and can include this in their major project
if
they want, but I don't teach it to them in the yr 10 course.

Hi Andrew,
I'll have to check up on the specific collections, but I've used the
extras sections of titles like The Simpsons (storyboards), Futurama
(character development), Forrest Gump (audio), Ice Age (3D animation),
Harvie Krumpet and Nightmare before Christmas (stop motion). And if the
kids are good, they can watch a little of the show as well!
