Hi Mel,

I second Roland's comments. We have an Emblaser 2 and a big Rayjet CO2 cutter. The Emblaser 2 is so much easier to use. We typically run adhoc jobs for VCD, Digital Technologies and Maths.

It is a little limited in the materials it can cut through but we manage just fine. Most of our jobs are paper, card or ply. You might hit challenges with blue and clear plastics or thick wood products. Also think about ventilation and whether you plan to run an extraction unit or house the laser cutter near a window.

It's a wee ripper .. used it before with a year 9 project and saw it demonstrated at another school. We got one for the Makerspace we are setting up at Monash Uni in our new Education Building.

Some positive reviews shared on the STEM Australia Facebook community. A Melbourne based company. Darkly labs did a top job designing this with schools in mind.
