Hi all,

We have an opportunity to run an Hour of Code Industry visit at Salesforce (31/55 Collins Street, Melbourne) on the 10th March at 10am.  If any teachers would like to bring a group of interested students please let me know via email and I’ll liaise with the Salesforce organisers. If you can’t make this session we will have additional sessions running in May, June, August, October and December.

The low down:
The aim of the Hour of Code Industry visit is to introduce students to a workplace and show how digital technologies (like coding) is used in everyday businesses. Students get an overview of the organisation and tour by the volunteers and are then given the opportunity to try coding using the Hour of Code (code.org) resource.  For the more advanced coders, students can give Salesforce Trailhead a go and develop an app on the day (some pre set-up is required for this option).  Sessions generally run for 2 hours and includes morning tea. Schools to arrange own transport to and from venue.
