I use this Icebreaker activity with my year 11s - same as the one we did in Project Management 3rd year CompSci at Macquarie - we put students into groups of 4-5 and tell them they have to build a card house out of playing cards. Most kids don't know how to do this - so I demonstrate how. I tell them each member of the team must play a roll in making the house. I give them enough time to build it once correctly and then a second time to specialise roles.

Students identify what occurs in the team activity: Communication - role allocation - sequencing etc...

Did somebody say Icebreaker ala Boaty McBoatface or did you mean a Dr Who Ice Cube tray? I really must pay more attention to these threads.

Speaking of armed robotic guards, here is a juicy spreadsheet of all the Dr Who villains, waiting to be poured over. There, that should put you all back on track.

Could be something for an ice breaker in a U103 issues class

Not as cool as RoboCop but it is first generation.
