Hi All,

Appears to be licensed on download as per the note on your link. (but may be limited to 2 activations – untested, but per licence agreement)
Unfortunately the “license agreement” states it can’t be used to “Develop or maintain your own administrative or IT Systems”
Unity does have the 30day trial period, then requests an account to be used from experience

As our school has provisioned the DEECD Office 365 accounts, my students login with their O365 credentials . (This also allows the students to sync preferences, etc.)

Hi Victoria

I think VS is free using a download from dreamspark (Microsoft site for students / new developers).  Note I don’t use VS at our school but if I were to, this is where I’d go for the download.

I found when I downloaded the Unity engine it automatically downloaded a version of VS.  I haven’t had a chance to vet whether this version is a free version or time dependent

Hi,

We’ve had a few changes of staff and processes at our school and the person who did all the software installation/purchasing/licencing has left and now it is up to me to manage it all.
I have fallen onto hard times and assumed Visual Studio Community was free for our school to use… now we are getting 30 day trial prompts.
Our new IT guy has set up a “personal” account for all my students to log into.

Can anyone help me with this? If I go through the new processes of purchasing Visual Studio we won’t have it in approved and installed till 2017 at the rate things move here.
