[Yr11 Information Technology] Headstart units

Hi all, like a lot of you we run a Headstart week at the end of this year (next week and two days the week after) to give the students a taster of the unit and set the ever lovely summer holiday reading/homework. Now that I've got two days to knock something together (exams marked, yay!), I was contemplating starting with the Networks topic (Outcome 2). In the past I've tried talking about outcomes and satisfactory completion etc., which always goes down like a lead balloon, and some spreadsheets as part of Outcome 1, which the kids lose in computer handover over the holidays.

At the moment I'm thinking of doing the Outcome completely by mid-February (4 weeks and change), leaving the rest of term 1 (5 weeks) for Outcome 1 (data and graphic solutions) and all of term 2 for Outcome 3 (collaboration and communication). I can't see anything in the key knowledge or skills that says "do this first".

Has anyone else looked at the order of units? Thoughts?
