Hi all
I am hoping someone can help me. Am back teaching year 12 this year for the first time in 6 or more years.
I have been working through what is required for U301 prototype website. I get that interactive sections do not have to be functional in terms of the wiki / blog /forum etc however just wanted to check if this is the same for the 'member only' login section. Do they just need to set up a form for the username and password access without it having to actually work?
Also if anyone is willing to share what a 'high quality' report looks like it would be greatly appreciated. Just would like to see how much detail the kids are expected to go in to when discussing the hardware, software and technical needs.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Margaret Graham

Subject: [Yr11 Information Technology] BIG DATA video
A very interesting documentary on the use of massive data sets to predict crime, earthquakes, plagues etc.
The Age Of Big Data
Aired - 6 January 2014 on SBS ONE
Expires - 20 January 2014, 9:30pm
http://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/video/98877507712/The-Age-Of-Big-Data
Every day we produce more data than the human race did from the dawn of civilisation until the year 2000. Twitter, search engines, scientific experiments, stock markets - these colossal databases can be mined for valuable, sometimes mind-blowing, insights using the most sophisticated algorithms ever created. This documentary explores how scientists are using technology and innovation to search data. From the police department who are using an algorithm to predict where crime will strike next, to a mobile phone app that knows that you are unwell before you do, to the man whose $5.5 billion hedge fund uses cosmologists, code breakers and particle physicists to inform decisions.
