Dear colleagues
After a long gestation period the 'yet to be endorsed', but 'available for use' Australian Curriculum: Digital Technologies has just been published this morning. Politically the curriculum has not been federally endorsed, (though it's been approved by ACARA, along with several other studies), as the government is awaiting the findings of the Australian Curriculum review. Having said that, it is unlikely that Digital Technologies will undergo much change. Please note: the Victorian Minister of Education has yet to make a formal announcement about when the full AusVELs will be implemented, but for schools interested in implementing this curriculum in 2015, this document is essential. As you will note, Digi Tech is a significant change from ICT as an interdisciplinary domain, and for many schools, many organisational and human resource decisions will need to be made. At a state and national level, there are many projects underway to support teachers and schools implement this curriculum. This includes Digital Learning and Teaching Association.
