Mark's wiki was the first thing I bookmarked when starting to plan all this last year – and has been a godsend :)

I like the idea of using non-texbook stuff…I am not a big textbook fan usually (though do use it as support until I find my way LOL).

I taught Unit 1&2 IT and ITA last year in my first year teaching and found Mark Kelly’s website (http://vceit.com/) a to be a great resource for either planning and presentations which I could use as part of my lessons. Here is a copy of my unit plan for this year, hope it is of help. I do end up using a lot of non-textbook resources such as youtube clips, stuff out of the newspaper etc. Let me know if there are any specific things I could flick your way.

Okay guys and gals - a query for the wise and experienced amongst usŠ



I am teaching VCE IT for the first time (went on exchange and taught Grade

11 and 12 Computer Science in Canada 2 years ago though). I am the only one in my school with any IT teaching (and industry) experience and we are a rural school so finding a mentor is a challenge LOL



My query - The amount of content (using the text as my main guide) doesn't seem to fill the initial schedule I had mapped out. Is there anyone who has run Unit 1 & 2 IT successfully before who would be prepared to share their unit timings? It would really help those of us who don't have a "feel" for it yet.
