[Yr11 Information Technology] Databases in Mac Operating System

At the ISTE conference in the USA, I was pleasantly surprised by the resources available for educators teaching Filemaker. I think that the focus on MS Access is something local to just here in Vic or Oz. From what I could see when I used it for a couple of weeks, it isn't all that hard to learn or use or adapt for VCEIT.

I know from these lists that a couple of schools are also teaching VCEIT with Filemaker. You can just search back through these lists or they can poke you with a stick and an offer for support.

Regards Roland

However, I have been asked to develop some database activities using the Mac operating system and MS Access is not available in this environment. Would anyone on the list be able to suggest a Mac compatible database program? I have heard of File Maker Pro but have never used it. Also, if there are any recommendations on books/resources/activities related to this it would be much appreciated.
