Yes, we don't report an overall grade for the semester for our students, either.
We give grades for each outcome and an overall S or N.

Hi Paul,

I don't look at Unit 1 worth 100%.

Each Outcome is independant of the others.

I assess each Outcome out of 100%. ie Outcome 1 = 100%, Outcome 2 = 100%,

Outome 3 = 100% and Exam = 100%

The task doesn't neccessarily need to add up to 100 for each Outcome.

My Outcome 1 was out of 55 and I just converted it to a % out of 100.

Also for each Outcome you need to give an "S" or "N".

Hope this helps.

Hi all,

This is my first year teaching VCE IT Units 1 & 2. Enjoying the new challenge.
I was wondering how others approach Assessing levels of achievement for Units 1 & 2.

I was thinking of breaking up something like this:

U1 O1 Class work 10%
U1 O1 SAC : 15%
U1 O2 Class work 10%
U1 O2 SAC : 15%
U1 O3 Class work 10%
U2 O3 SAC : 15%
U1 Exam 25%

And similarly for Unit 2
