I am not criticising the small but dedicated band of people who work at VITTA.  What I am concerned about is that it was sold as a "great resource for the new study design",  and it just isn't.  So my point is, be honest about the contents, and price it accordingly.

If you are going to charge $250 for a resource kit, then pay someone who has the time and expertise to assemble it, not rely on the efforts of those who contribute resources for a small gratuity.   We pay $70-80 for a textbook, and that has heaps of information - the resource kit (based on this price structure) should be three times as meaty.   If only 20 schools purchase the kit (and I think this number is a very conservative estimate), then thats $5000 already.  I don't know how much people get to write resources, but its a pretty decent start.

Unlike previous years, the resource kit is not in the form of a CD, so you might have missed it.  You have to access the material through the VITTA website.  This has the obvious advantage that additional resources can be added or updated from time to time, so I think this is a good move.

I don't want anyone to think I am criticising those who have contributed, its basically a lack of quantity rather than quality.  And I really object to forking out more money to purchase Unit 1 and 2 exams, when they should have been in the resource kit in the first place.

G'day all,

I guess we need to keep in perspective that from my experience peddling behind the scenes that like many other subject associations, VITTA is made of a group of dedicated teachers who sometimes volunteer their time to assemble these resources or contribute for a small gratuity. It is getting tougher each year to rally support in these projects and I can only imagine that users that subscribe to this resource would get updates if any late material is submitted or if there are gaps that clearly need to be filled. Also tough with a new study design and the push to get it right first for year 12.

Some things we cannot control. Crikey, just look at how long it took for the ITA textbook to cross our desks and that wasn't any fault of the authors.  I can only imagine that they would welcome any constructive feedback although it is hard for the office staff to respond directly to these posts.

If indeed the exam pack is NOT part of the Resource Kit can VITTA provide a list of what we have paid for and expect to get in this resource asap. This, at the very least, will help with planning.

Are there any plans to include a practice exam in the (quite expensive) VITTA resource kit we paid for?  I have been a little underwhelmed so far, with the amount of resources that it contains.
