Hello Andrew and colleagues
In units 1 and 2 there are a list of assessment task types at the end of each unit in the study design, from which teachers can choose to use for each area outcome. It may be appropriate to use more than one task type for an outcome. Flexibility exists for schools in their choice of task types. For VCAA purposes these tasks are non graded (only need Satisfactory or Non Satisfactory).
School-assessed coursework, where a grade is given, is only applicable to units 3 and 4. Advice about the mark allocation for each task for an outcome are provided in the Assessment Handbook located on the VCAA website at: http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/vcaa/vce/studies/infotech/infotechhb-2011-2014.doc
Regards
Paula

Hi,
IN the new study design for yr 100 IT units 1 and 2 are students doing assessment called SAC's?
Reading the assessment guide on page 22 you could argue you give a variety of assessments for each outcome.
I am confused a little. FOr each outcome are the students meant to complete at least one form of assessment ?
Usually I give an assessment as a project to be completed over a few lessons in class like a large Excel task, a website to be created in teams etc
