[Yr11 Information Technology] Google Docs in action

Has anyonetried using Prezi? I used it for a coolaborative task in Y10 and kids loved it. It is easy to learn, non linear and images, video are easy to upload.

Hi all.  I'm in class now starting U1O3 - Issues Talks.  One of the problems in the past is that groups of students had to create parts of a slideshow separately and then stitch them together to create a coherent show.

This year they're using Google Docs Presentation to work in teams on their shared slideshow and they're loving it.  
An inadvertent benefit is that Google Presentations is spartan compared to Powerpoint so kids are less tempted to waste time on shiny bouncy special effects at the expense of content.

Google also provides Google Sites, which will be of value to ITA for schools who can't afford Dreamweaver (or Notepad  )   

It's a shame there are no collaborative outcomes in units 3 or 4, but when simulating virtual team tools, Google Docs will be a valuable tool to consider.
