You can use conditional formatting for this (on Home tab if using XL 2007 and then apply your specific text rule).

Hi there
 
I was hoping someone can help. In an excel spreadsheet i am trying to find out cells that end in a letter such as X and then color those cells. Is there a formula that can do it. The find and replace tool is too cubmersome and I am sure I have done soemthign similar but cant think thanks
