Have a look at this TED video both for the content and the use of this
animation software to communicate complex statistics. Not only is it a great
example of using an interactive visualisation to output the information and
the value of linking databases, you will learn something interesting about
the world and how much it has really changed in the past few decades.

My multicultural students had a good laugh, joining in to champion the 'race
call' type style, as the population balloons raced across the screen. I
learned that to stimulate any real growth, a country must first fix its
health (and education) systems *before *it improves its market economy.

Google have just made a move to purchase the software.
