Hey there Jason,
If you are weak at programming and want to give yourself a bit of breathing space, DONT DO OUTCOME 1 FIRST!
That way, you get a chance to build your knowledge curve slowly and not have to panic...its the way I'm going to approach this unit as I am using VB6 and want a chance to be AHEAD of the kids when I start...Java is/was an option too. As a bonus by this method, it will give you a chance to get some software installed on the system and debug it if necessary to a level where the classes can use it.
Hope this helps...Mark Kelly gave me this idea with his approach to Unit 1...it makes good sense and stresses you less.
Good luck!

Hi List
I have just started to panic!
I have just been handed a Year 11 ICT class for all of term 3 and have just finished going through the course outline and realised that we do not have any programming software on the school network. I am sure I would be able to purchase some but it would have to be cheap.
Does anyone out there have a series of tutorials that can help me teach myself and the kids some programming.
I know that this is at late notice but I have reading the year 12 list and the people on there have been extremely generous.
Thanks in anticipation.
Cheers

Greg! Very good! I will add that to my growing collection to bring to school.

OK - I confess that, at first, I thought this was a send-up, so I
checked their website. I've read it thoroughly and I'm still none the
wiser. If it IS for real, though, Ananda Agarawala and co appear to be
post-doctoral graduates of the Microsoft Academy of Vapourware since not
even their FAQ has been written yet. {Well, of course, you can't answer
the frequently asked questions if nobody has had a chance to ask any
questions at all, such as, for example, "Are you guys for real or what?"}
That said, though, I rather like the idea. Have you checked out the
parody site? The link is on the "BumpTop" website.
Hmmmmmm
