hi All
my minimum for video edit is 256GB SSD, 16GB RAM i5 chip
whether that is in PC Or Mac is not so important - personal preference is for mac
However it must be a machine that is well built , reliable, robust etc. (mac again)
it is not just purchase price but the cost of maintenance and nearly all windows machines need more maintenance than mac
students keep their own video on an external HDD if they have more than 100 or soGB of video
also advise them to back up to another external HDD on a regular basis (every 2nd lesson?)
just my opinion and not reflective of the views of my employer or most of his employees
