I have been told they've never had to resort to the paper-based "emergency"
exam, but this may be an urban myth?
If any class has ever had to use the paper-based exam I have not heard about
it.
When I explain the exam to my students, I talk about the paper one as an
emergency back up, and they get all excited about no prac, but then I say
that instead of actually doing the prac, they have to explain in writing how
they would do it. Of course, I have no clue whatsoever, but it nips in the
bud any dreams that the power might fail for 2 hours on the afternoon of
Friday the 9th of November!!
As far as paper-based questions, no they are not provided. Kids have to
multi-task, between the exam app and the software.
As you have probably seen for the animation, there used to be a storyboard
to follow, but the trend seems to be a real animation that they need to
emulate as closely as they can.
Cheers
Claire

Hi Kate,
Do you mean the Practical questions? I'm pretty sure that students have to
read them from the exam itself. If you have a student needing special
consideration, you should get your VCE coordinator to approach VCAA as soon
as possible. The paper exams are provided in case of technical problems
where the computers are not able to be used. I don't know how the paper
exam would approach the Prac section without computers!
Yours,
Marian

Hi Marian,
Are students able to work off a hard copy of the exam instructions for the
Practical section? Is special consideration required?
Do you know??
Thanks
Kate Jones
