[vet-mm] Writing styles

One part of the IDM course I am fiinding a bit "challenged" by is effectively giving examples of the Writing styles. and explaining them. They all seem like "plain English" to me - (lol)
Does anyone have any good links or other material to help out with these elements:

include:
* conversational
* dialogue
* dramatic
* formal
* humorous
* journalistic
* plain English
* whimsical.
and also passive/active voice

I am trying hard to not seem like a complete dufous - but it is almost impossible 8|
