VITTA is pleased to announce that we will again be spearheading the Victorian ICT Week campaign with the support of the Victorian Government. Now in its third year, ICT Week aims to promote ICT best practice teaching and learning in Victorian Primary and Secondary schools. We've got lots of great events planned this year such as the annual ICT & Careers Expo, a free industry bus tour (applications will open soon!), heats of the new "So you think you can rock...?" and "Wii Idol" competitions, the PixelEd Multimedia Industry Dinner and by popular demand, sessions on InDesign, Photoshop, Flash and GameMaker brought to you by Natcoll.

ICT & Careers Expo 2009

Come along and find out more about how you can achieve your career goals at the 2009 ICT & Careers Expo. From Fashion, to Sport, to Music, to Programming and much more - we have all the answers!
Date: Saturday 1st August
Venue: Melbourne High School, Forrest Hill, South Yarra
Time: 10:00am – 3:00pm

The ICT and Careers Expo is an event designed to give students all the information they need about an exciting and rewarding career in ICT. The Expo will host representatives from a range of industries where ICT plays a vital role. Tertiary institutions will also be on hand to provide information about their wide range of courses in ICT.
In addition to this, there will be a games corner where you can test the latest Nintendo games, presentations from a broad range of industry and tertiary speakers, showbags and prize giveaways including a Nintendo Wii!

PixelEd Multimedia Industry Dinner
Date: Thursday July 30
Time: 7:15pm onwards
Venue: Enoteca Oggi 237 Lygon St, Carlton 3053,
Cost: PixelEd Members - $60 | All others - $70 (Price includes a three course meal - drinks are extra)
PixelEd's annual "Meet Industry Dinner" gives Multimedia and Interactive Dogital Media teachers an opportunity to fulfil the VET training requirement to stay up-to-date on industry matters. It is also a great opportunity to network with other teachrs, explore career options and talk to industry professionals.
This year's keynote speakers include:
Wayne Rankin, a renowned Australia-based graphic designer, has been pushing the boundaries of digital imaging and design since the early 1980s. Wayne has worked on a diverse range of projects during his career, developing quality print, communication, new media and other design projects, in Australia and overseas.
He is the recipient of many awards both in print and new media and has had work published in many Australian and International publications. Wayne ’s experience in new media projects is extensive, he has been involved in the design of a multitude of exciting interactive projects since 1992.
