ICT Week is only one week away and there are plenty of exciting activities planned to celebrate the use of ICT in all facets of society. Make sure you and your school community gets involved by participating in the following activities or by running something in your own school and letting us know!
1) ICT & Careers Expo
Did you know that the IT industry is one of the fastest growing career markets in Australia ?
Come along and find out more about how you can achieve your career goals at the 2009 ICT & Careers Expo . From Fashion, to Sport, to Music, to Programming and much more - we have all the answers!
Date: Saturday 1 st August
Venue: Melbourne High School , Forrest Hill, South Yarra
Time: 10:00am – 3:00pm
Cost: FREE

2) ICT Industry Bus Tour
There are still a couple of places left for the ICT Industry Bus Tour for teachers and career practitioners. The bus will visit the Centre for Health Innovation, Monash University Computing Museum , Ericsson and the Academy of Interactive Entertainment and will include hands on activities and one-on-one interaction with ICT industry professionals. The day will not only be a fun introduction to possibilities in the ICT industry, but also a great way to network with colleagues and industry.

Start and Finish: VITTA Office, 134 Cambridge Street , Collingwood
Time: 8:30am – 7:00pm
Cost: FREE for VITTA Members

3) Natcoll Short Courses
Natcoll in conjunction with VITTA are presenting limited edition Multimedia Short Courses during ICT Week.
Choose from a range of short courses covering programs like Photoshop, Indesign, Flash and GameMaker.

4) PixelEd Meet the Multimedia Industry Dinner
PixelEd's annual "Meet Industry Dinner" gives Multimedia and Interactive Digital Media teachers an opportunity to fulfill the VET training requirement to stay up-to-date on industry matters. It is also a great opportunity to network with other teachers, explore career options and talk to industry professionals.
This years keynote speakers include Wayne Rankin , a renowned Australia-based graphic designer and a representative from Big Ant Studios , a Melbourne-based game studio.
The Dinner will be held at Enoteca Oggi 237 Lygon St, Carlton 3053,
Thursday July 30 at 7.15
