Just for your information... this may help! This is my (hopefully)
diplomatic proposal to management.

That's a good idea Mark - use spaces - why didn't I think about that...
I just have windows task bar along the bottom and mac task bar along the
left hand side in parallels?

I have used a MacBook laptop running Parallels for the last 12 months. I
threw an extra GB of RAM into the Macbook (Taking it from 1GB to 2).
Although not necessary, the extra RAM did improve performance
particularly when I briefly ran Vista in my Windows install. I currently
run XP on the Windows side (only because I prefer it to Vista) and
happily run the Mac OS and XP side by side. I have set up Spaces on the
Mac to give me a Windows desktop and a Mac desktop and I can simply
toggle between them. I actively run applications in both and have no
problems. As a result, I recently upgraded my Windows PC at home to an
iMac running Parallels to give me both OS's. Works great.
Good luck!
