Hi Lesley,
My understanding is that Cert 3 in Multimedia (3/4) includes the units from Cert 2 (1/2).
This means that you cannot do Cert 3 without including the units from Cert 2. 
However IF they have strong skills the MAY be able to do Unit 3/4 without getting Cert 3.
Would NOT recommend to a weak student. There is a massive amount of basic theory that goes on in Cert 2.

We don't offer VET MM here yet, but I have a year 11 student who is thinking of doing it off-campus next year. She hasn't done it in Year 11. Would she be allowed to do Units 3 and 4 without doing Unit 1 and 1? And would she be best advised not to try it even if she is allowed? She isn't a strong student.

Any advice gratefully received.
