Kids might like to refer to the design elements and principles as a terminology resource when discussing their design work and this site is great for understanding colour and symbolism eg. Colour symbolism from east to the west and your own colour profiler -

How to save the client money -
Use of 2 (spot) colour design versus process colour CMYK jobs. re- cost of printing. 
Or consider how the logo appears as a Black and White for photocopying purposes etc.

Here is a little something I have thrown together for my Yr 10IT
students, but may use with the IP&M kids as well.
My expertise is not in design (I wish it was, as I find the field
totally fascinating) so would appreciate constructive criticism from
others please, so that this may be made better.
