Hi Michael

   Pod casts/ videocasts definitely.
The ownership of iPods amongst our Arts faculty student population alone increasing each year.
So preparing delivery of material is well worth it if the trend continues (as I expect it will).
I am about to use podcasting prepared by industry specialist and I will be surveying students about whether it has been helpful and how they might use it.
This year my unit 1-2 students will investigate and report on podcasting and iPods and how they could benefit a multimedia developer as a new piece of technology.
Later in the year they will focus on prac work in the digital audio unit and apply some of the knowledge acquired. (I hope... that is....)

As many Mac users are probably well aware -
Mac based Garageband 3 software (part of the iLife 2006 software pack) has been promoting podcasting features ie. - placing the user in the control room of their own full-featured radio station with the ability for the user to get their voice on the Internet in just a few minutes....

It will be great to see how podcasting is used over the next 18months +. If it is like text messaging and mobile phone cameras, students will be forging ahead developing some highly creative and highly dubious projects no doubt..

Please develop as much as you can and then feed back and discussion can flow.
Regards
Chris Russell

Dear group,

I'd like your input : )

Do you think podcasting or videocasting is something that
teachers/students use as a resource for tutorials? Especially the ones
in iTunes or embedded into webpages.

I'm developing some free animation tutorials (Monkey Jam) which I'll be
sharing : ) but I'm not sure how far should I take it, should I even
bother?

Many thanks.

Michael
