Have you got Adobe Premiere 6.5 . 
You can export any given format to any other chosen format.

So the best cross platform format that I have known in my lifetime is quicktime.( .mov ) for dreamweaver to accept.

Another alternative is Flash 8 PRO which uses a new format called flv to accept windows media conversions and then embeds the movie into flash (swf ) format.
