Pamela, try the Flashkit site its great resource.
A lesser known site but a good one for most multimedia skills  is
http://animation.about.com/od/2danimationtutorials/ss/2d_fla_lesson1.htm
for an intro to basic 2D animation. Its quite easy to follow, and there is a 
printable version, just look and follow the links. They are about to add 
further tutorials.
