Hi Jim,

I believe students who have completed 1 & 2 this year can continue with
the old 3 & 4 sequence or they can transfer to the new course.

I attended a workshop last week and apparently they will run two
separate exams next year one for the old course and one for the new
course.

Hope this helps.

Subject: [vet-it] New course

Hi all,

I've just been trying to work out how to write a VET IT course in
Software Appliactions and I must admit I'm confused. Has anyone out
there worked out the following:

1. What students who have done units 1 & 2 last year or this year will
need to do to complete their unit 3 & 4 next year.

2. A sample program that gives the students a 1 to 4 unit sequence over
the next two years that satisfies the VCE course.

I am hoping that somebody has already sat down and worked out the
sequence of units for both cases. I am trying to work out a timeline for
next year and would be happy to share my completed timeline if somebody
could just tell what units will be required to make up the courses.

Thanking you in advance

Jim

Hi Jim

I'm just getting to the end of re-writing and re-editing the workbooks
to
bring them into line for the new ICA05 course. Next week I will turn my
time
to putting together a mapping document for students that want to
transfer
from the old/existing IT course to the new one. Happy to make it
available
to those that want it.

In brief:
1. Essentially, existing students can continue with the existing course
as
it now stands that you have been delivering and don't need to worry
about
the new course.

2. I am just completing the new books for the new course - will have
them
ready and available for browsing at the VITTA conference. If you aren't
going let me know and I can send you a copy.

Kind regards

Hi Allan,

I won't make it to the VITTA conf.

Can we work some way to get a copy of the new ed.? What do I need to do?
Do you also do the CERT II books?
You also mentioned in a previous email about some assessments for
rpx/rpl that would help with student selection into the CERT II. Is that
right? or have i got my wires crossed?

Thank you for your time in replying.
