Emma - I assume that you are referring to Access?
Forgive my saying this, but once you find it, it is so easy. Maybe you
are looking for something hard, but it is not so. In fact Access will
guide you to the auto-lookup through its wizards.
For example, if you are building a table with postcodes in it, in the
Design View (select the blue triangle to get to this view), in the Data
Type column rest the mouse on the postcode line & click the down arrow
then go to the botton choice "Lookup Wizard...". Just follow the prompts
from there.
OK? Please email me if you are still stuck. There are a few tricks, but
no point explaining them until you are working through the wizard...
