Hi Diane,
At Keilor Downs, we are doing the Software Applications stream. For the
most part we use the standard applications that come with Microsoft Office
(Excel, Word, Access) and also, I am just trying to get Puppy Linux and Open
Office going (thanks to Con for his pointers) so we can do the module on
Migrating to new technology on something other than a Microsoft based
system. Anyway, in answer to your actual question, I dont think there is a
prescribed list of software, but most of the modules relate to whatever is
used in industry, so this is more often than not, whatever your school has.
Cheers

Subject: [vet-it] Query on VET and software applications
Hello everyone
As usual, I'm asking an 'off topic' question - we are considering
introducing VET IT (and have been for about three years but that's another
story). If we introduce the Software Applications stream, is there a list of
'prescribed' software that must be studied or are we able to decide on a
variety of software of our choice? Or if we go for the General stream, is it
'meaty' enough for the students?
Any comments, suggestions, ideas would be most appreciated.
Thank you
Diane Peat
