Hi Michael,

Actually both tools can produce html based documents but the word processing option is not as good as the web based "authoring" tool if we are working with a hyperlinked based product.

The wording of this question disappointed me also.
Why are options A, B, D nouns and option C a verb ?
Why not call option C " Web based documents " ?
A tool that generates Word processing documents can and is able to generate web based documents too , with hyperlinks and related features.
But, the best answer is still a tool that is primarily one that produces web-based documents.

Hi Lesley,

In the choice of answers, there is really only 2 tools that generate or produce documentation.

c) web-based authoring
d) word-processing documents

and since the question is asking for "online documentation", the only answer that I can think of that creates HTML would be

c) web-based authoring

What do you think?

Best regards,

Michael

Hi everyone,

No-one has commented on Friday's VET-It exam yet. What did others think? I thought it was OK - I hope that most of my students will do OK.

I'm curious about the answer to multiple choice question 3 -
Which tool is the most appropriate for producing online documentation. A tool that generates:
a) help files
b) online tutorials
c) web-based authoring
d) word-processing documents

I'd be grateful of any ideas.

Lesley

I teach Network Administration and I was not as impressed with the exam.

I was particularly disappointed with the multiple choice questions

Section A

            Q 3

Q 11

Q 13 - The most obvious thing to do if you are editing a document (in
word I presume) would be to save to your own hard drive until the
network came back up. Not an option

Q 18 I could easily mount a case for either a PDA or Memory stick
given different parameters

Section B

            Q 19 - Rapid Transfer Setup cost - not something that I
have discussed with my students,
Most of my students knew what shaping was, but
again we had not discussed it.

Q 14 B Virtual machine - As soon as I said emulator my
students knew what the question meant, but again we had not specifically
covered it.

I used to take as a good rule of thumb if its not in 'Essentials of IT,
it won't be on the exam, plus any definition are taken as those in
Essential of IT.

I suppose I shouldn't whinge as I did not put my hand up to be on the
Exam Setting Panel, thankyou for those that did.

In my uninformed opinion, it did not suit the Network Administration
course as well as it may have suited Software or General.
