Textiles teachers - want to get your students passionate about design?
DATTA Vic's State-wide design competition So You Think You Can Design is open NOW for Textiles students
SYTYCD is a great way to engage your textiles students in the Product Design Process in a fun, hands-on way. Taking part will communicate the importance of the learning area to your school community, and give teachers new ideas and approaches to teaching and learning. It is open to all students, although is most appropriate for years 10 & 11.
The competition runs in 2 stages:
. the school-based challenges- 2 design challenges to be completed in your own school during Design & Technology Week (10-14 October)
. the SYTYCD Finals - taking place live at our Makerspace 2016 conference on the 8th of December at NCAT
Winning students receive a Bernina overlocker each, and an accompanying teacher gets free admittance to the DATTA Vic conference. Entry to SYTYCD is FREE.
Registrations are open now -email Laura at pl at datta.vic.edu.au to get your students involved.
