Akorn Education Services is excited to announce the release of a new
online/virtual education program:

Virtual FULL STEaM AHEAD¹
6-10 July 2020

Have you heard about the FULL STEaM AHEAD¹ program?

Are you wanting to learn how to assist members of the community to live a
vibrant and happy life?

You may be in luck!
Due to COVID-19, Akorn Educational Services are offering an online Virtual
FULL STEaM AHEAD¹ program in the July school holidays in addition to our
in-person program in September. This program is FREE and can be attended by
Year 9 & 10 students from ANYWHERE! A stable internet connection is required
for scheduled group conference calls.

The program is designed to allow students to work flexibly throughout the
week. There will be group online conference calls on Monday, Wednesday and
Friday. Students can choose if they want to work individually or be
allocated into a group and collaborate online.

During the program, students develop: · Empathy Building
· Design Thinking
· Product Development

· 3D Design
· Professional skills such as; Teamwork, Presentation & Leadership

The program is also a great way to make new friends and have fun!

Note: If participants in the VFSA program would like to further develop
their designs/prototypes they will have the opportunity to participate in
the in-person FULL STEaM AHEAD Program (http://www.akorn.com.au/fsa) in the
Melbourne CBD September 21-24 or in Sydney CBD 28 Sept - 2 October 2020.

Akorn VFSA 2020 - Group Conference Timetable
All times are in Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST)
Monday 6th July 
9:30am  11:30am 
Akorn will kick off the program with an overview and explanation of the week
to come. Students will learn to use Design Thinking and hear about designs
that previous FSA students have developed. Students can choose if they want
to work individually or be allocated into a group. Akorn will provide a link
to a Google Drive folder that contains a wealth of resources. Students will
be asked to brainstorm ideas before we reconvene in the afternoon.
2:30pm  4:30pm 
After their brainstorming, Akorn will assist students to assess their ideas
and decide which one they will pursue. We can collectively brainstorm ways
to enhance each product.
Wednesday 8th July 
9:30am  11:30am 
We will meet online again and share our progress. This will be a great
opportunity to ask any questions. Akorn will provide a template for students
to create a Design Poster¹ for their product.
Friday 10th July 
9:30am  11:30am 
Akorn will help students to refine their poster and 3D design. Students will
upload designs to Google Drive and be supported by Akorn to prepare their
'product pitch'. 
2:30pm  4:30pm 
An online platform will be set up to share each product pitch. Teachers and
parents are welcome to view this special session.
