AKORN is pleased to announce that through a special collaboration with
 
ROBOGALS ­ Melbourne Chapter
 
 we are able to offer an opportunity to your school to participate in a
STEM based
 
MIDDLE SCHOOL ROBOTICS WORKSHOP and COMPETITION
 
 
·      Date:                 FRIDAY   23 Februay  2018
·      Venue:              University of Melbourne ­ Parkville Campus
  Engineering Design Studio 9 ­ OLD METALLURGY BUILDING
·      Time:                9:15 am ­ 2:30 pm
·      Who:                The opportunity for six teams of SIX Year 7 or
8 Students interested in
  learning about Robotic Engineering while engaging their thinking and
reasoning
  skills in a fun hands-on environment
·     Cost:                $325 per team  ­  covers program, morning tea,
lunch, all materials
 
 
WHAT IS IT? 
 
Creative     Innovative     Challenging     Fun     Thinking
 
 
Akorn and the Melbourne Chapter of Robogals are excited about working
together again in 2018 to offer this opportunity. (it is anticipated that
we will announce additional dates later in the year.)
 
This fun hands-on day will provide information about various disciplines
of engineering and some of the many opportunities it offers.  The day
starts with an information session followed by a robotics workshop. The
final segment of the day will be a series of challenges with increasing
levels of difficulty.  Students will gain additional life skills such as
communication, collaboration and critical thinking as well.
 
Participation is limited so be quick to register your school & students.

Teams will also be supported by EWB engineering professionals and students
during their ³workshop² session and will present their recommendations to
all participants during the closing session of the conference.  Students
will be given time to ask questions of the panel of experts.
 
By having each team made-up of students from each participating school,
when returning to their home school ­ they will be able to present the
³whole² picture to fellow-classmates and staff.
 
Attendance is strictly limited to the first six schools responding to this
notice.
