Crazy Robot PL13017
Design Brief for the Crazy Robot Workshop
Stage 1 - Participants will construct, test and then program their own Picaxe 8M2 Motor Driver Microcontroller.
Stage 2 - Participants will build their own Robot base.
Stage 3 - Participants will attach their Picaxe 8M2 Motor Driver Microcontroller onto the Robot base and watch it run around.
Time permitting if interested, participants as an extension/enrichment activity, can add some front and back lights.

Systems Engineering Exam Preparation PL13018
The Systems Engineering exam preparation workshop is a 4 hour activity giving teachers the tools to teach exam prep across the necessary unit 3 and 4 outcomes.
Review and refresh your knowledge and gather tips in assisting students in revising for the exam.
The workshop includes:
· Preparing to be examined on Unit 3 and 4
· Important information from the examiner’s report
· The marking process and what examiners look for in an exam response
· Where students have gone wrong in the past
· Sharing ideas and tips so as to gain the best results for your students and the subject.
This exam preparation workshop will be presented by the VCAA Systems Engineering State Reviewer and exam assessor who has had close to 20 years’ experience in exam assessing.
The workshop will be aimed at both new and experienced Systems Engineering teachers. If time allows, some discussion of the new study design to be implemented 2013 will be discussed.

Modern Love: Professional Learning Day for Teachers
More than thirty of the world’s most influential designers from the past 40 years will feature in Modern Love. This full day Professional Development day gives teachers a chance to view the exhibition, learn about the designers and participate in a practical workshop.
Modern Love focuses on approximately 60 works from the post-punk period from the 1980s to the present day. It reflects fashion in our contemporary lives with works ranging from haute couture designs such as museum commission Alexander McQueen gowns to t-shirts, Adidas high top runners to shoes worn by Samantha Jones in Sex in the City.
The day focuses on:
· Exhibition visit - view fashion by designers such as: Vivienne Westwood, Issey Miyake, Carolina Herrera, Marc Bohan for Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel, Gianni Versace, Alexander McQueen, Thierry Mugler, and more
· Workshop with artist Linda Jackson, renowned textile artist and fashion designer - Participants will design a scarf, collage a colourful artwork and create a fashion drawing inspired by the landscape, a favourite flower or combination of colours.
Suitable for all Art or Design and Technology fashion/ textile teachers
