There are a couple of apps that I use for IPhone that may be relevant to you and your students.

1. MultiConvert
2. Ohm's Law
3. ElecToolKit
4. EtroToolkit
5. Units
6. Gear Toolkit

Please also don't forget about ABC iView app which always has great documentaries too.

Another good site is the SBS-on-demand which give students access to other documentaries http://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/

I am wondering if anyone has started using ipad apps to assist with their classroom teaching and if so which ones did they find helpful.
